Language goals
The following scope and sequences have been developed in line with the Victorian Curriculum. They provide specific language goals in sequence that are matched to year levels. The goals are developed with the view of using them as I can statements and ILP/IEP language goals. The scope and sequence results can be used to form goals for language programs and for pre and post testing of entire classes, groups or individual students.
The goals in blue are directly from the Victorian Curriculum while the goals in black provide more specific steps and strategies.
These documents are works in progress and have been provided on the website as quickly as possible rather than after rigorous editing. They will be updated and edited on an ongoing basis based on feedback by users. If you have feedback or suggestions please don’t hesitate to contact Pam via email – thuan.pamela.j@edumail.vic.gov.au. The following links provide the old basic scope and sequence of language skills for 5 areas of language development. Each one is designed to be used in either junior, middle or senior primary school classrooms. The scope and sequence results can be used to form goals for language programs and for pre and post testing of entire classes, groups or individual students. They use excel and can be edited for your own purposes. They are not linked to the curriculum or grade levels.
